Our Inspiration

Nate’s Light Foundation was created for our son, Nate — our sweet, brave boy who filled every room with joy. Nate lived with Fanconi anemia, a rare genetic condition that brought more challenges than any child should ever face. But even through surgeries, hospital stays, and difficult days, he carried a light that never dimmed. He loved deeply, cared deeply, and had a way of making everyone around him feel seen and loved.

In 2025, Nate’s earthly journey came to an end, but his spirit didn’t. We still strive to keep his light shinning, in the small moments, in the strength he taught us, and in the love he left behind. His light is still here; it just shines in a different way now.

During Nate’s journey, we learned how important emotional support, compassion, and community are for families facing rare illnesses. We also learned how overwhelming and isolating it can feel. So much of that experience stayed with us, and we knew we wanted Nate’s life to continue making a difference.

That’s why we created Nate’s Light Foundation — to carry Nate’s spirit forward and to support children and families walking their own difficult paths. Our mission is to bring comfort, hope, and moments of joy to families going through long medical journeys, just like we once were.

Nate’s light changed our lives. Through this foundation, we hope it can brighten the lives of others too.
